UC Davis Declines Care/Next Stop Memphis, TN

Despite having an exam under anesthesia and MRI scheduled on Thursday 12/10 at UC Davis, they informed us on Wednesday that they were unable to accommodate us due to our lack of insurance.

Through the exhaustive efforts of Tim Puckett and Abby White of Daisy’s Eye Cancer Fund, we were able to set up an appointment with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. On Saturday December 12th we will be flying to Memphis to begin our stay at St. Jude’s.

We will be meeting with the ophthalmologist on Monday, and an exam under anesthesia will be performed on Wednesday, with a possible removal of Lexie’s left eye at that point in time.

There are other tests and exams that will be performed, but we will not know the extent of what needs to be done until we begin the process at St. Jude’s.

Our family would like to express our appreciation of everyone who has reached out to us during this difficult time. We are overwhelmed with the generous outpouring of support that has come from friends, the community, and even those who do not know our family.

A silent auction fundraising event to help with the mountainous health costs has been organized:
