Update-Diagnosis Retinoblastoma

On Friday, December 4, Lexie met with a specialist at UC Davis, who unfortunately confirmed her diagnosis as Retinoblastoma, or cancer of the eye. This is very bad news, and we need to act quickly. On December 10, Lexie must return to UC Davis to undergo an MRI under anesthesia, which will show if the cancer has spread to the other eye, the optic nerve, or any other part of the body. If this MRI confirms the tumors that the doctor felt during the routine exam, Lexie's eye will be removed the same day.

As you can imagine, our family is devastated by this news and the severity and speed at which it's coming, but we are trying to remain optimistic. We sincerely appreciate all of your concern and prayers, and are extremely grateful to everyone who has reached out to us.

Unfortunately Lexie still does not have health insurance, and we've run into even more red tape from crossing the state line to get her treatment.

As such, we have put together a silent auction fundraising event to help with the mountainous health costs:

December 15, 6:30pmNew Life Four Square Church/Le Petit Kids Club918 Northwood Blvd.Incline Village, NV

For questions regarding this silent auction or to donate items, please contact Sarah McMahan at 775-287-0064 or trisarahmc@yahoo.com.

We also continue to accept donations for Lexie's care via paypal or through checks sent to an account that has been established in Lexie's name at Wells Fargo Bank.

An account has been established in Lexie's name for contributions:

Wells Fargo Bank
PO Box 3488
Portland, OR 97208-3488
*Please reference account#1329323883

*Donation can be made in person at any Wells Fargo Branch.

*Donations can be made online by clicking the Paypal button below:

A donation of any amount would mean so much to our whole family and be so appreciated, and allow us to get Lexie the medical treatment she so desparately needs.

Please check back as we will be regularly updating this blog for all those interested on the progress of Lexie's treatment plan.

Thank You All & God Bless You,

From Lexie Mae and all of us that love her.
